My name is Hannah, and I’m a Classics student who loves singing, reading, sassing, Disney, Harry Potter, musicals, unicorns, cake, sparkly things and being fabulous (and also Classics, possibly? Who knows). I fill my holidays from university with sewing, crochet and all things crafty. I am an understitcher just like other people are sous chefs or sub-editors. I’m still just starting out, using the guidance of those with more experience to help me along the way.
I have been making things for as long as I can remember, but I only started making my own clothes in late 2015, shortly after I started this blog. My very first handmade dress was this Bettine dress. Since then I have thrown myself head-first into the world of dressmaking and have made lots of my own garments, but I still have a long way to go. That said, I’m enjoying every minute I spend with my trusty sewing machine. I may be on the bottom few rungs of the ladder, but at least I am on the ladder in the first place!
Not so long ago, I didn’t even know what understitching was, but I’m steadily working my way up from underneath, learning and improving all the time. This blog recounts my sewing (and sometimes some knitting and crochet) stories as I attempt to become a better stitcher.
